What kind of counseling services does Fortaleza offer?

Fortaleza offers a variety of counseling services including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.

What can I expect during my first counseling session?

During your first session with Fortaleza your therapist will ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counseling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counseling process.

Does Fortaleza offer in-person sessions?

Not at this time. We currently provide Telehealth-only services to clients anywhere in Texas, with a focus on Austin and surrounding areas.

What does telehealth therapy look like?

Telehealth sessions take place via secure video conferencing. You will receive a link prior to your session and can join from any private, comfortable location with a stable internet connection.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is helpful for anyone seeking personal growth, clarity, or healing. During your first session, we’ll explore your goals and make sure we’re the right fit for you.

What is the difference between a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and an LPC Associate?

An LPC Associate is a licensed clinician who has completed their graduate degree and is working toward full licensure under the supervision of a qualified supervisor. They provide the same quality of care and are actively building their clinical experience.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows are subject to a fee.

Do you provide crisis or emergency services?

No. If you are in crisis, please call 911, the Travis County 24-Hour Crisis Hotline (512-472-4357), or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Do you work with children or teens?

Yes. We provide therapy for clients ages 5+, and may refer out when specialized care is more appropriate.

Do you accept insurance?

We operate on a private pay model. This approach allows for flexible, individualized care without the constraints often imposed by insurance requirements. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available based on qualification and availability. We’re happy to provide a superbill for potential reimbursement through your insurance.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes, we offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need and eligibility.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept secure electronic payments, including HSA and FSA cards.

Do you provide ESA letters?

Yes. We provide ESA letters for current clients and when clinically appropriate.

Do you complete court-related paperwork?

Yes, for current clients only. Additional fees will apply. We do not provide custody evaluations or expert testimony.

Can I text or call my therapist?

No. To protect your privacy, we do not communicate via text. Please contact your therapist via email at info@fortalezapllc.com or by phone at 512-808-0449.

Can I follow my therapist on social media?

We do not connect with clients on personal accounts. You’re welcome to follow Fortaleza Counseling & Consulting, PLLC  for updates, education, and mental health resources.
